The WHOLE Armour

Take unto you the whole armour of God Ehp 6:13-17
Why? To withstand in the evil day! If you only have part of the amour you will not be fully protected and unable to withstand and attack.  We are not called to attack these principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this age or spiritual wickedness in high places, but to withstand, stand and if you missed it STAND under the whole armour of God.

2 Tim 4:3-4 ...the time will come when they will not endure (hold oneself up against) sound doctrine....they shall turn from the truth....unto fables.

withstand...stand...stand therefore...Eph 6:12 against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual wickedness in high places NOT FLESH AND BLOOD

Truth (like a belt that holds it altogether)
Eph 6:14a Your loins girt about with truth

Titus 1:9-11 hold fast the faithful word...sound exhort...convince...the gainsayers (gainsayers meaning to contradict, deny, speak against… in this context the word of God)
verse 13-14 rebuke so they maybe sound in the faith. Not giving heed (this means don’t keep your mind towards them or pay attention) to Jewish fables and commandments of men, that turn from the truth...

Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this age: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
The Greek word here for prove is dokimazo approve, discern, examine... taken from dokeemos to test...properly acceptable, approved, tried.

(2Ti 2:15) Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
The Greek word used for study is spoudazō (spoo-dad'-zo) From spoudē (spoo-day) the meaning is… to use speed, diligence forwardness that is, to make effort, give diligence, be diligent (forward), endeavour, labour, study.

Breastplate (protects the area of the body that contains the vital organs)
Eph 6:14b
breastplate/corslet (thorax in the greek) A corslet is defined by the Oxford English Dictionary as "a piece of defensive armour covering the body." to protect his upper body.
Thorax: The area of the body located between the neck and the abdomen that contains the lungs, the heart and part of the aorta.

Acts 17:28 In Him we live and move and have our being. Col 3:3 “For our life is hid with Christ in God”.

Feet shod (to bind under one’s feet, that is, put on shoes or sandals: - bind on, (be) shod)
Eph 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

The word preparation taken from the greek hetoimazō - het-oy-mad'-zo to prepare or make ready. To me this doesn’t mean to force yourself in any which way but be ready and prepared to do so when God opens the door of opportunity as it is by His leading and not our own efforts to make this happen.

Isaiah 52:7 how beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

(Col 2:6) As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Col 2:7 Rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

Shield of faith
Eph 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

In bible times this would be a large shield as a door shape and protects the entire amour that protects the life as a defense.
We are told in 1 Tim 4:1-2...some shall depart from the faith (speaking lies in deceit....conscience rendered unsensitive.) to depart from behind the shield would leave yourself open to great harm.

Helmet & the Sword
Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
By taking the whole amour we can stand it isn’t enough to stand if we only have knowledge of our salvation we are also to use the sword of the Spirit which is God’s Word in our defense against the evil day we live in.
Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.
God wants us to be protected when our faith and walk comes under attack and it all starts with standing under the truth of the word. Acknowledgement of that truth will help us to stand our ground when it comes under attack. In Ephesians where the armours is outlined we need to keep it in the context of the book.  Meaning when there is attack on our calling, walk, submission, unity, dealing with anger etc within the family unit and work place we work it out under the instructions that have been given. Overall we submit to God His truth and our walk in the family and where we are placed within its stucture.  To disregard any aspect would be disrespectful and disobedience to our head.
You can't shake an absolute but where there is doubt or lack of knowledge there is wavering and this can make you open to deception and stumbling. Just because we know the truth we are not protected against the attacks from happening, but when the attack is happening we can be unshaken in the absolute truth and we can have confidence in the God who sees the begining and the end, knowing that He who begun the good work in you will complete it.
We are living in the temporary but pressing towards the eternal when the day is coming when there will be no more attacks because the enemy will be finally defeated.
